Beloved husband of Lynda Chapman (née Pentz); loving father of Patrick (Rebecca) Chapman III, Timothy Chapman, and Erin (Josh) Freeman; cherished grandfather of Tahlia, Elizabeth, Prue, Gavin, Xavier, Christian, and Brayden; proud great-grandfather of Liam and Benson. Dear brother of the late Joe (Nancy) Chapman, and brother-in-law of Larry and Sharon McCarthy; treasured uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Patrick was a proud former United States Marine and a retired St. Louis City Firefighter. He continued his service to the community through his involvement with the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree) and the American Legion. In retirement, he found joy working as a train conductor at the St. Louis Zoo, where he brought smiles to countless families.
A lifelong animal lover, Patrick was a generous supporter of animal rescue organizations. His heart was full of kindness, his laughter infectious, and his greatest joy was time spent surrounded by his beloved family.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Service: Visitation, Tuesday, September 2nd from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street at Watson. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, September 3rd 10:00 am at St. Lucy Parish at the St. Joan of Arc Campus at Pernod and Hampton Ave.
Interment with Full Military Honors to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
