Richard J. Nelson

Rick was the loving father of Margaux Krownapple; devoted grandfather of Lyam Krownapple, Ruth Krownapple, and Myra Krownapple; dear stepfather of Helen Becker, Robert Becker, and Timothy Becker; beloved brother of Robert (Gwen) Nelson, Patricia (Tom) Karabees, David (the late Karen) Nelson, Diane (Bruce) Barack, Barb (Mark) Alliance, Mike (Kim) Nelson, Tom (Wendy) Nelson, and Pete (Laura) Nelson; and a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his dear wife, Rosemarie Nelson.

Rick was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his Masters in Mathematics and Statistic from The Ohio State University. He worked as an actuary for Towers-Watson and Company until his retirement. He loved traveling and he loved to play golf. He was a world traveller, most recently visiting France in 2025. He was an active member of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish. Rick enjoyed watching sports on his favorite little TV. He would say it was all he needed. He was a generous, loving and welcoming man, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be Thursday, February 5 from 9-10am at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 3864 Flad Avenue, 63110. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am. Interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick's memory to St. Margaret of Scotland St. Vincent de Paul Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.
