

Dick was the beloved husband of Carol (nee Roberts) Suntrup; loving father of Daniel (Brittney) Suntrup and Emily (Brian) Sebrian; cherished PaPa of Kailey, Tanner, Wyatt, Everly, and the late baby Dylan; dear brother of Robert Suntrup, James (the late Barbara) Suntrup, Mary (Patrick) Lowry, Daniel (Patricia) Suntrup, Michael (Myra) Suntrup, Mark (Jeannie) Suntrup, Peter (Linda) Suntrup, Cathy (Kurt) VanMatre, Paul (Julie) Suntrup, and Steven (Phyllis) Suntrup; dear brother in law of Gloria Suntrup and Charlie Ponciroli; dear uncle and great-uncle, cousin, and a friend to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" Suntrup, Jr. and Geraldine E. Suntrup, his brothers John H. Suntrup III and David (the late Glee) Suntrup, and his sisters JoAnn (the late Milt) Svetanics and Patricia Ponciroli.
Dick was born in St. Louis and attended Immacolata grade school and CBC High School. He started off his career as a life insurance agent for American Investment in Clayton, and later moved to Blue Cross Blue Shield as a computer programmer. Dick spent his leisure time going to St. Louis Cardinal baseball games or listening to them on the radio, following Mizzou football, reading, camping on the Huzzah, and deer hunting with his brothers. Mostly he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.
He coached Dan's baseball and basketball teams, and Emily's basketball team. Dick was a long time president of Epiphany's St. Vincent de Paul Chapter. He also volunteered for fish frys, tournaments and many other parish events. He and Carol were married at Epiphany in 1975 and were always very involved in the parish and school.
Dick was funny, generous, larger than life, happy, and dedicated to his family and friends. He would do anything for anybody and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 28 from 2-6pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 29 at 10am at Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church, 6596 Smiley Avenue 63139. Interment Calvary Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dick's memory to Epiphany's St. Vincent de Paul chapter would be greatly appreciated by his family.
