Ruth L. Townsend (nee Ashby) of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the age of 85. Dear daughter of the late Edgar and Verla Ashby (nee Moore). Beloved wife of the late Lester H. Townsend. Loving mother of Lary (Mary Lou) Farmer, Darrell "Bud" (Anna) Farmer and Harold (Diane) Townsend. Dearest grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 16. Dear sister of the late Clarence (Agnes) Ashby, Helen (Paul) Portier, Morris (Georgia) Ashby and Raymond (Joella) Ashby. Our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and dear friend to many.
