Passafiume, Sam S., Sr., 89, Baptized in the Hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Nov. 11, 2014. Loving husband, of 64 years of Melba Rose (nee Surina); Loving father of Joseph Passafiume and Sam Passafiume Jr.; Loving uncle of Frank, Joe, Steve, Sue, Elizabeth, Augustine, Helen, Gus, Sam, Julia and Donna; Loving brother-in-law and friend to many.
Sam was a World War II Veteran that was awarded a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for being wounded in the Philippines. He was a member of the Rolla /Calcaterra American Legion and The St Joan of Arc Holy Name Society. In the 1960’s he was an activist for the Mentally challenged children in the St Louis area for better special education.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, Nov. 16, at HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, Nov. 17, at St. Joan of Arc, 5800 Oleatha Ave. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
