Dear husband of Joyce (nee Range) Knobbe, loving father of Laura (Scott) Benson, Linda (Keith) Werckmann, Lisa (Michael) Kurkowski and Leigh (Elgin) Manalang, grandfather of Alyssa (Joe) Welling, Tiffany, Lexie and Kaylie Werckmann, Ryan, Adam and Nick Benson, Jacob and Matthew Kurkowski, Max, Gabe, Audrey and Oliver Manalang, brother of Leonard (Helen) Knobbe, Lois (Gene) Feicht, Kenneth (Patricia) Knobbe and the late Jacqueline and (Tom) Beckerle, dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and dear friend.

Vernon was owner and manager of real estate investment properties, former owner and operator of three St. Louis Newspaper routes. Inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame in 1998 and committee member since 2004. Chairman and President of The St. Louis Newspaper Carriers Credit Union. Member of Perpetual Adoration Society at St. Gabriel’s.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Vernon’s name may be made to Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, White House Retreat League or St. Gabriel Adopt-A- Student Program.

Funeral from HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL MORTUARY, 6464 Chippewa at Watson, Thursday, May 19, 2011 9:30 A.M. to St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church with the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M.
