

Beloved wife of Edwin Swallow; dearest mother of David Swallow, Karen (Steve) Kissel, Diane (David) Kindt and Jim (Theresa) Swallow; loving grandmother of Tom (Summer), Elizabeth and Natalie Swallow; Jeff and Lauren Kissel; Melanie (Nathan) Painter, Julie and Valerie Katz; Meghan (Trevor) Nohe and Bryan Swallow; beloved great-grandmother of Derek Swallow and Liam and Violet Painter; dear sister of Berdine Herbert and Ann Pace; our dear aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, neighbor and friend to many.
Jonnie will be forever remembered for her many interests and the love and attention she gave to her extended family. She was an outstanding cook and was famous for her pies and cookies. Her passion for reading and research led to her getting her membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) of which she was proud of her association. Her vibrancy, outgoing nature, gift of gab, and friendly style were the hallmarks of her personality.
The funeral service will be conducted at Union United Methodist Church on Thurs., Dec. 22, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. If desired, please make expressions of sympathy in Jonnie’s memory to the St. Louis Public Library or Forest Park Forever. Visitation will be held at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa at Watson on Wed., Dec. 21, 2011 from 4-8 PM and at church on Thurs. from 10:30-11:30 AM.
