Walburga Catherine Steiner, born March 14, 1921 to late Anton Steiner and Walburga C Steiner (nee Rustige), in St. Louis, Missouri. She has crossed over from this earthly life to join God and all her dearly departed in the eternal life, at the grand age of 97. She is celebrated by her sisters Teresa (now deceased), Margaret, Elizabeth, Christine, her brother Anthony and sister-in-law Buena, loving family members, and all her cherished friends in Christ. Her dedicated life’s work included sisterhood in the Poor Clare Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in Chicago, membership and service in the Third Order of St. Francis, the Legion of Mary, and St. Vincent de Paul organizations. She enjoyed her career of many years in the offices at St. Mary’s and Firmin Desloge Hospitals while being a dedicated caregiver for her mother. As a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Maplewood, she became involved is many aspects of the church’s work including PSR teacher, Eucharistic minister, caring for the elderly, leading the daily rosary, and starting Eucharistic Adoration on Fridays. In 2012 she received a Catholic Women’s Unconditional Commitment Award from the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She loved to play little games like “rock school” with nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood children. She leaves with gratitude for all who were kind to her in this life. A child of God, the time has come for her to be with the angels where her spirit, kindness and humor will be shared in the eternal glory.
All are welcome to meet and celebrate her passing. Visitation Wednesday October . 3, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M., Immaculate Conception Church, 2934 Marshall Ave., Maplewood, MO 63143 with interment to follow at Mt.
