

He was born on May 17, 1940, to the late John Alexander Taylor and Diana Modupeh Cole. He was also reunited in eternal rest with his Brothers: James A. Webber, Samuel B. Cole, Alexander R. Taylor and Alfred O. Taylor.
Christian Ray-Taylor, Sr. was raised in a loving Christian home by his grandmother, Taiwo, in Waterloo, Sierra Leone, West Africa. There, he received his early education at Government Primary School and later attended Methodist Boys’ High School.
In the early 1970s, Christian Ray-Taylor, Sr. relocated to Liberia, where he furthered his education at a technical college in Bomi Hills. He began his professional career at the ELBC Station and later served with dedication at the Voice of America (V.O.A.), where he worked for 19 years.
Following the outbreak of the Liberian civil war in 1989, Christian Ray-Taylor, Sr. immigrated to the United States, settling to Minnesota in 1993. He worked diligently for several years at Brady and later at Menards where he retired, earning the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic and quiet resilience.
Christian Ray-Taylor, Sr. is survived by his wife, Marie Ray-Taylor; his brother, Ian Taylor; and his children: Christian Ray-Taylor, Jr., Christiana Ray-Taylor, Sheila Nemah, Rose Ray-Taylor and Alusine Kamara.
He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: John, Isaiah, Altiana, Alrayna, Nasheil, Namu Jr., Jonathan, Aiden, Eunice, Sarian, Michael, Elliana, and Tristan, as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, In-laws and Dear Friends in the United States and Abroad.
Christian Chukuma Ray-Taylor, Sr. will be remembered for his faith, perseverance, humility, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 1730 Old Hudson Rd, Saint Paul, MN 55106, United States. The service is scheduled for January 24, 2026, with visitation starting at 9:45 am and the service commencing at 10:30 am.
The committal service will take place at Union Cemetery, 2505 Minnehaha Ave E, Maplewood, MN 55119, United States, on January 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
