With hearts full of grief yet anchored in the hope of Christ, we announce the passing of Jeremiah Steck, age 44, and Erin Steck (Pugh), age 39, who were called home to the Lord on December 7, 2025, following a tragic car accident while on their way to church. Their three beloved children survived.
Jeremiah and Erin lived their lives with a steadfast, quiet faith that shaped every decision, every act of service, and every moment of their marriage and parenthood. Their home was a place of warmth, gentleness, laughter, and prayer, where Christ’s love was woven into daily life.
Jeremiah spent fifteen years teaching woodworking and engineering, touching numerous lives with his patience, humility, and ability to see potential in every student. After the birth of their youngest son, who lives with profound disabilities, Jeremiah pursued a master’s degree in special education so he could better support him. Later, he founded a small construction company to provide further stability for his family, bringing to that work the same integrity and servant-heartedness that defined his teaching.
Erin embodied compassion. She earned her masters degree in speech pathology. She initially served seniors with grace and tenderness. When their youngest son required full-time care, she devoted herself completely to him, navigating countless medical challenges, therapies, hospital visits, and sleepless nights with unwavering love, while also ensuring their two older children's needs were always met. In recent years, she resumed part-time remote work, continuing to use her gifts to help others. Erin lived out Christ’s call to selfless love more fully than she ever realized.
Together, Jeremiah and Erin built a family life centered on faith, service, and deep affection. Their three children were their greatest joy. Their marriage was a reflection of sacrificial love and mutual devotion, a quiet testimony to God’s faithfulness.
They are survived by their children and by extended family who are committed to keeping the siblings together. Loved ones are preparing a home to welcome them, ensuring that Jeremiah and Erin’s legacy of unity, stability, and love continues.
