

Proceeded in death by parents Frank and Mary Tempel, her husband of 39 years, Terry Erler and brother Dick Tempel.
She is survived by children, Cheryl Erler, Dennis Erler (Jennifer), Patty Brost (Joe), Linda Hall (Doug); grandchildren Dan, Joe, Angie (Jeff), Mandy, Maddie Rose, Zach (Sadie), and Katie; great-grandchildren Zoey, Henry and Nathan; sister-in-law Marilyn Tempel.
Mary Ann was a life-long resident of East St. Paul. She graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1954, where she met Terry in 9th grade. They were high school sweethearts and married in 1957. She and Terry enjoyed the camaraderie of many friends and a great neighborhood in which they raised four children. Her and Terry purchased a lake property near Nevis MN; they built a cabin together where so many cherished memories were made.
Mary Ann loved to cook and bake, and her apple pies were a neighborhood legend! She was very active in her church, Presentation, where she was the funeral luncheon coordinator, fall festival dinner coordinator, and Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. Mary Ann retired from 3M in 1992 where she managed multiple cafeterias in Maplewood and Woodbury.
The family would like to thank Harbor Crossing in White Bear Lake for the exceptional care the past 3 years. Memorials preferred to Presentation of Mary Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Presentation of Mary Catholic Church, 1725 Kennard St, Maplewood, MN 55109. Visitation one hour prior at 10:00am. Burial will occur at 2:30pm, Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 2101 Lexington Ave S, Mendota Heights, MN 55120.
