She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Mary D. (Maher) Smetana; grandparents; brother-in-law; niece; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Mary Ann is survived by siblings James Smetana, John Smetana (Maureen Walton), Margaret Armstrong (Jim Gilles), and Sheila Gibbons (Paul Witzel); aunts and uncle Carmella Maher, Esther and Donald Giesel; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
