I also got the news over here in Tanzania.  He was a great guy and will be greatly missed!  I pray for comfort for those who were close to him.  My special condolences to the Reck children who were very close to him.

My condolences to the Jahn family.  I was privileged and fortunate to follow Milt Jahn as principal of Hayden Heights School.  He modeled for me how to leave a school when you move on.  Everything was organized and in good shape to begin the new year and move forward.  As a brand new principal, his support made all the difference for me.  I remembered this throughout my career and tried to show the same respect to my predecessors.   Joanne Ventura

My condolences to Milton's family. I taught under him at Hayden Heights and he was one of the best principals I had the pleasure of working for. He will be missed.

One of the greatest men I know.  Every night I would go over to there house and G'ma would say she needed a hug and a kiss from me.  I gave one to her and G'pa says...I need one of those too and gives G'ma a hug and kiss and not me.  :)  He loved G'ma so much and I feel honored to have known him for as long as I did.

My deepest sympathies to all...even though he was "my cousins' grandpa", I had the opportunity to know Milton through his relationship with my own grandparents, aunt, and cousins. He was a fine man, and I join in mourning with all who were closest to him.

Exactly what Brokaw meant by "The Greatest Generation".  Remember visiting with him our under-construction church when I was three years old.  Remember when he mimicked my childhood accent when I said the name of my Kindergarten teacher "Mrs. McCarthy" as "Mrs McCoffee".  He couldn't take the Eagles "Hotel California", either can I Grandpa!  We miss you.

I have lots of memories of Grandpa but one of my favorites was about 10 years ago when he joined a game of volleyball at one of our Jahn family picnics at Mounds Park.  I think everyone was shocked when he got out of his chair and entered the fray.  

There probably isn't a street on the east side of St. Paul that I didn't see grandpa walking down at some point in my life.  Whenever I'm driving down Johnson Parkway I half expect to see him still strolling along.  We miss you grandpa!

Sure that the completion of this longest of long "walks", has truly arrived at the most worthy of destinations.
