Lavay and Tom, you are in my thoughts. Losing a husband and a father is a difficult thing for both of you. I am glad you have each other as well as a strong support circle of family and friends. 
I am pleased to light this candle in Steve's memory as a husband and a dad but am so sorry you have lost him.

Lavay and Tom I would like to extend my deepest sincere condolences with the loss of Steven, a true friend, a great man, a wonderful Uncle and brother in-law, your are all in my thoughts and prayers!  

The making of a man is more than skin and bones. The heart and soul, the caring, the drive, the support, the love, the nurturing and conviction to family is what truly makes a man, Steven, was a mans man! A man that would give you the shirt off his back, and let you keep it! A man that would allow you to make mistakes, then teach you from your mistakes without judgment! Steven was man that wanted only the best, for himself, his friends and most importantly his family! Steven was a friend that you could count on, a brother in-law you could not only confide in, but also trust to guide you in the correct direction, even though it may have been against his beliefs or better judgment! After meeting Steven 27 years ago and taking a ride in his Ole Blue Ford, I would not have missed it for the world!  The time spent with Steven, getting to know Stevens family playing catch with Tom in the yard, Saturday morning talks with Lavay as she tended her gardens and eventually marring his sister Michelle are all priceless. Those memories, and many more will be cherished to the end of my days and the great opportunity to share in his life will be remembered by not only me, but all those that the Cairl Family has touched. Steven, if they have internet in heaven, please know, I loved you like a brother, not just a brother in-law!
You will be truly and sorely missed by one and all!
