OBITUARY

Suzanne K. Schroeder

16 March, 1934 – 14 March, 2022
IN THE CARE OF

Wulff Funeral Home

Suzanne Katherine Schroeder was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 16th,1934, and died at home on Monday, March 14th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents (Mabel and Neal Irwin), sister Barb Irwin, and Rita Maureen (daughter). She is survived by husband Dale Schroeder of 62 years, children Sheila Meehan (Don), Shannon Schroeder-Six (Lonnie), Shauna Schroeder (Chris), honorary children Jon Lattimer and Patti Sullivan; sister Nancy Seabrook and brother Roy Irwin; grandchildren Justin, Keagen, Aaron and Grace; and great-grandchildren Nevaeh and Liam. Sue was born in Minnesota, but grew up in Cumberland, Wisconsin and the surrounding area.

Sue married Dale Schroeder in 1959, and they lived for most of their married life in St Paul, Minnesota, but also considered Cumberland, Wisconsin; Stillwater, Minnesota; and Sanibel Island, Florida as “homes away from home.”

Sue worked for UOP Johnson, was editor of the Arden Hills newsletter for years, manager of the “She” store in the Rosedale Mall, and finished her career at Smith-Microtech for 20 years until retirement in 2008. She was one of the first weekend college graduates from St. Catherine’s College in Minnesota.

She was an eternal worrier, always concerned for the welfare of friends and family, loving them fiercely. She was happiest when she was with them all under one roof, together on the beach, at Cumberland, or on the houseboat.

She loved being on the go. Her time was filled with her grandchildren’s dance recitals, art festivals, reading, gardening, shopping, musicals and traveling.

She lived for years with Parkinson’s and did not let it define her. She was a force of nature with a big heart. She leaves behind many who will feel her absence acutely.

Sue Schroeder was always passionate about her family and friends. Please join us on Saturday, May 21st 2022 from 1pm to 4pm at Shauna Schroeder and Chris Fitzharris home, which is located at 14 Creekside Ln, North Oaks MN.

Food and drink will be provided, which we will gladly exchange for memories and hugs. Let’s celebrate the unique woman we loved and laughed with, keeping her alive in our hearts. A short eulogy will occur about halfway through.

“I took the road less traveled by, and it has made all the difference.” - Robert Frost
