Florence Marie McNeil

Florence was born in Glace Bay, NS and was the daughter of the late Viola (Dean) Hyisky and Marcel Voyez, who she never knew. The father figure in her life was Izzy Hyisky, who was a wonderful person and role model.

She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Michael (Boe) McNeil, daughter Debbie and grandson Michael. She is also survived by her brothers Joey, Terry and Evan Hyisky.

Family was the joy of her life and as a military wife she enjoyed the travel associated with that life. She worked retail in Montreal, PQ; Winnipeg, MB; and Trenton, ON. She also made many friends over the years and she kept in contact with them. Her grandson, Michael, was a new addition to our home when he and his mother moved to Sydney when he was 3 months old. He immediately was the light of her life and brought so much joy and happiness.

Flo knew what mattered in life and she lived by her beliefs.

In honoring Flo’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of T.W. Curry Funeral Home.

A special thank you to Dr. Gammell and Dr. Milne. The staff at Wentworth Court at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, she loved you all. The EHS paramedics, you went above and beyond for us. Special thanks to the Emergency room staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, your care and compassion made a very difficult time much easier.
