With broken hearts and much sadness, we announce the death of Gordie Moss, 76, our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, on Sept. 28, 2018 surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney on Oct. 27, 1941, he was the son of the late Patrick and Bernadette (Leblanc) Moss.
Gordie was hard working and held a variety of careers including Bread Delivery for Lynch’s Bakery, Milkman for CB and Modern City dairies, and Salesman for London Life Insurance. After retiring, he was a Bus Tour Guide with ACSS cruise ships for the past 8 years.
Gordie loved dancing and music, especially Irish music, so he and his wife Enis took many trips to the White Mountains in NH on Anna McGoldrick musical tours. They also travelled to Nashville and enjoyed many trips to Florida. He also loved being outdoors and camping in Ben Eoin with his family and B.E.B. friends.
He had very strong faith, and as a boy Gordie was a singer in Holy Redeemer Boys choir. He was a faithful member of St. Theresa’s parish and a member of the Senior Choir, the Men’s Club, and the Hall Committee.
As a dedicated community volunteer, he served at the breakfast program at Cusack school, taught religion classes to children, was chairperson of Sydney Co-op Council and member of the Cursillo movement.
Gordie was a true family man who loved his wife, 4 daughters and 10 grandchildren beyond words and they loved him equally in return.
