Ida Yvonne Campbell

73 - Westmount

On April 12, 2008 one of the most wonderful women was called home to our Lord. Ida Yvonne Campbell (nee Leon) loved life, loved her friends, and most of all loved her family.

Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Louise (Forrest) Leon. She was a member of Holy Rosary parish. Ida was a pioneer at Maritime Tel & Tel. having worked there until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bingo with all her ‘buddies’.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; children, Donna (Gerry) Gilmore, Clary (Rena), Charlene (Darren) Bauer, Denise (Murdock) Rogers, Jamie (Dionne) and brother, Henry Leon. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, James, Katelyn, Tammy, Troy, Desneiges (Morgan), Cooper, Max, Cole and Bryce and great-grandchildren, Kallie and Lachlan.

Ida was predeceased by brothers, Rannie, Johnnie, Eric and sisters, Loretta and Carol.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Memorial service will be held immediately following at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Cape Breton Branch) or to a charity of choice.

At this time the family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the prayers and well wishes they received. Also, thanks are extended to the staff of 4B of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, doctors, nurses and palliative care staff and to the VON.
