John Michael Stevens

It is with sadness of heart that we announce that John Michael Stevens, passed away on October 30, 2025 at the age of 54. He was born on March 4th, 1971 to the late Daniel and Gladys (Bernard) Stevens of Eskasoni.

John was a gentle soul who enjoyed being around family and friends. John enjoyed attending Karaoke nights in Sydney and surrounding areas and going to Eskasoni Tim Hortons for his daily coffee. John loved and cherished his fur babies Chase and Summer. John was a fan of the Montreal Canadians. John had an open door policy and was always a place to hang out.

He is survived by his beloved fiance Rachel MacDonald, godchild and great niece Hanna Paul, nephew Daniel Sylliboy, great nephew David Paul Jr. and brother-in-law Ben Sylliboy as well as other relatives and many friends.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his siblings Daniel jr., Anna Stevens, Linda Ginnish, Theresa Stevens, Thomas Stevens and nephew David Paul.

Visitation will be held at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni on Wednesday, November 12 starting at 2:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, November 13 at Holy Family Church, 50 Gabriel St., Eskasoni with burial in the parish Cemetery. Salité to take place immediately following the burial.
