Noel Ignatius Denny

Noel, well known as "Bo", was loved and deeply respected by many. He worked for 35 years as an addiction counsellor at the Mi'kmaq Lodge where he worked side by side with his work family who he respected and cared for deeply. Sober for many years, he turned his own journey into a mission to help others find theirs. He gave wisdom, love, respect, honesty, humility and truth. He never left a conversation without sharing a lesson, a story or a piece of wisdom that stayed with you long after he was gone. No matter what someone was going through, he had a way of reminding them that it's "one day at a time".

In his younger years Bo embraced the freedom of riding motorcycles with friends, feeling the thrill of the open road and the bond of friendship. He also found excitement in scuba diving. Bo had a true passion for metal detecting, discovering coins and all sorts of interesting finds. He loved camping with family and friends and enjoyed taking drives, especially cruising alongside his youngest son. Decorating for the holidays was also something he took pride in, filling the season with warmth. Bo also found enjoyment in watching YouTube. These passions reflected his adventurous spirit and love for life.

Bo was incredibly proud of all of his children and grandchildren, always believing in their potential and he encouraged them to be their best selves. He saw the strength and goodness in each of them and never doubted that they could achieve great things. He was always there and will forever be there in spirit. Bo stood beside his life partner for 30 years through both happy and tough times. His love brought comfort and strength always giving love from the heart.

Left to mourn are his partner Janet Peck, children Roger, Belinda, Cheryl, Bo, Lance, Nolan, and stepchildren Amy, Patrick, Maynard and Earl. Grandchildren Theo, Lawrence, Skye, Dre, PJ, Presley (Princess), Noel Simon, Willie, Floyd Trinity, Ivy, Izack, Ikey, Lance Jr, Robbie and Katie. Great grandchildren Dion, Ayleks, Ari, Nene, Kaveena, Ainslee and Kendra. Siblings Mary Jane, Ionzo (Mona), Yvon, Yvonne (Joe), Elsa Fagan, Harriet, Simon (Kim), Verna (Roger) and Miney (Ernest). Godchildren Trevor, Shelly, Noel Frank, Roderick, and Darlene.

In addition to his parents, Bo was predeceased by his son Ikey, siblings Oliver, Ira, Roland, Judy, Olive, Pauline and Martha in infancy. Also his maternal grandparents Noel and Judina Marshall, paternal grandparents Simon and Harriet Denny, grandchildren Angel and Ira John, great grandchildren Taylan and Adreah as well as godparents Mary Jane Gould and Frank Marshall, and godchild Pierre Johnson.

Visitation will be held at the Gabriel Centre, 50 Gabriel Street, Eskasoni on August 8, 2026, from 7:00 pm until the Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni on August 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial and Salité will follow. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at twcurry.com
