Lloyd Esley Hagan, 91, of Sylvania, died Saturday morning, May 4, 2013, at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
He was born in Screven County, Georgia on March 3, 1922, to the late Lloyd Miller and Katherine Elizabeth Freeman Hagan. He was a U. S Army veteran of World War II where he served in the 30th Military Police Company, was a Mason, and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a member of the Sylvania First Christian Church and was employed by the United States Postal Service for 33 years in the Sylvania office.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 71 years, Eloise Griffin Hagan, who passed away on March 17, 2013, and two sisters, Mary Katherine Hagan Nemeth and Margaret Hagan Robertson.
Surviving are, A Daughter and Son-in-Law, Sandra Hagan and Gary Hostetter of Delano, Tennessee, A Son and Daughter-in-Law, Lloyd Michael and Deborah Boyd Hagan of Sylvania, A Sister, Lillian Hagan Parker of Mount Olive, NC, Grandchildren Leanna and Gregory Schulenburg of Carrollton, GA and Dr. W. Hardyn and Dr. Michele Eubank of Clarkesville, GA, Great-Grandchildren, Lillian Grace Schulenburg, August Wright Schulenburg, Wheeler Hagan Eubank, and Ellesen Alyx Eubank, and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 7, 2013, from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Screven County Memorial Cemetery with Minister George Pevey officiating.
Members of the George A. Minchey VFW Post 7116 of Sylvania will serve as honorary escort.
Military honors will be accorded by members of the United States Army.
