

Alejandro Jose Aguilar, MD., 90, passed peacefully on the morning of April 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Alejandro was born in Managua, Nicaragua. At the age of 28, Alejandro came to the United States with his bride by his side to pursue a successful career in Urology. He was a member of The Hillsborough County Medical Assoc., American Medical Assoc., American College of Surgeons, American Urology Assoc., Southeastern Urological Medical Assoc., St. Joseph Cancer Committee; former Professor of Urology at Tampa General Hospital, Charter member of the Bay Area Renal Stone Center, a founder of the Latin American Medical Society, Paul Harris Fellow of the Ybor City Rotary Club, and a Knight of the Krewe of Sant' Yago. Upon retirement from his medical practice at the age of 70, Alejandro pursued his hobby of drawing religious figures which he gifted to many family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Nydia and their children Patricia Rampi (Richard), Carla Leeder (Howard), Alex Aguilar (Kim), Leslie Morris (Michael); grandchildren Ricky Rampi, Rachael Rampi Zurita (Patrick), Elizabeth and Catherine Leeder, Alejandro III and Camryn Aguilar, Christopher and Nicholas Morris; great grandsons Benjamin and Nathaniel Zurita; his sister Ileana Escobar (Ivan). In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in his name to Christ the King Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Krewe of Sant'Yago Education Foundation. Visitation will begin at 9am and a Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Church on Saturday May 1st at 10am. Internment to follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
