Anthony “Tony” J. Christian, Jr., age 74, passed away on Thursday June 9, 2022 at Tampa General Hospital due to heart failure. Tony was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, and lived the majority of his adult life in Florida; the last 36 years in Sarasota where he enjoyed boating and fishing with his family.
Tony was a drag racing legend competing for 45+ years in the National Hot Rod Association, NMCA and NSCA in divisions such as Pro-Stock, Modified Eliminator, and Pro-Mod divisions. In 2012, Christian was inducted into the NHRA Hall of Fame.
Christian is survived by his children; Heather (Eli) Kircher, Tony (Chelsea) Christian III and Tori (Cameron) Beckham, grandson Asher James Christian, brothers, Richard and Bob and sister Dee.
