Carlos traveled the world as a Training Manager for Detroit Diesel Allison, Coastal Power, for over 30 years. I could go on and on about all the things he was good at doing and his love of engines, motors and mechanics. A 33rd Degree Mason and Worshipful Master of his lodge for 2 years. Carlos had a passion for martial arts and was a black belt in Judo. Carlos is a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always donated to multiple charities including St Jude Children’s, Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, and St. Joseph’s Indian School. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to any of these in his name.
Predeceased loved ones include his parents Santiago Gutierrez Blanco and Felicisima Robles Alvarez, brother Raul Gutierrez, and many other family members. He leaves behind his loving wife Mercedes Gutierrez, his sister Pilar Gutierrez Hidalgo, her husband Jacinto, along with nieces and nephews, daughter Maria Gutierrez Plavko, granddaughter Georgina Katherine Gutierrez, daughter Karla Gutierrez, daughter in law Nicole Gutierrez, and several cousins and friends. Special thanks to all at Lifepath Hospice for the amazing care they gave our father and to our cousin Ray Robles for always being there when needed. “Yoo-hoo”
