
Charles A Polansky Jr. 98 , passed away on 13 July 2014 at his home. Charles was born in Chicago IL. He joined the Army Air Corps was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and married the love of his life, Frances. During WWII he supported the development of the first B-29 bomb wing to go to the Pacific theater. He also served with the 499th Bomb Group and flew combat missions from the island of Saipan. He served in the Air Force for 23 year rising to the rank of Colonel. His final duty station was MacDill AFB in Tampa. He earned a BA degree from the University of Tampa. Tampa became his permanent home. Charles worked for Civil Service in Tampa and Orlando. He was very active in the Church of the Incarnation. Charles enjoyed traveling, gardening and golfing during his retirement years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and his wife. Charles and Frances were married for 67 years. Dad will be missed by his daughter, Patricia Perino and her husband Dr. Anthony Perino and his son, Charles Polansky III and his wife Karen Polansky. He is also missed by his four grandchildren and their spouses, Gina Perino (David), Greg Perino (Tina), Lauren Shelton and Charles Polansky IV (Heather) as well as his six great grandchildren, Christopher, Savannah, Kyle, Sophia, Gabriella, and Owen. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Incarnation, Tampa Fl on Friday, July 18 at 9:30 AM. He will be buried at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with military honors at 1:30.
