On Monday, July 23, 2018, Dawn T. Ritchie, loving wife and mother of two children passed away suddenly at the age of 68 years. Dawn was a resident of Temple Terrace, FL for 21 years. She was born on June 22, 1950, in Gulfport, MS, to Thomas C "TC" and Jessie Mae (Cates) Taylor. She was one of the first women to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Business in 1972. Dawn will be forever remembered by her husband of 39 years, James McLean "Mac", and their children Thomas "Darr" and Jessica (Jason) Empkey, by her sister Janet (Gerald) Floyd, by her cousins Elsie Tierce and Susie (Charles) Towater, and by her brother-in-law Stokes (Linda) Ritchie. Dawn will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Dawn was predeceased by her brother David Taylor.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6 pm - 8 pm at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609. A funeral service in memory of Dawn will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church, 350 S Hyde Park Ave, Tampa, FL 33606 with Rev. Steve Caselli, Senior Minister, presiding.
