Elpidio E Garcia

Garcia, Elpidio, E, of Tampa 85 departed this life on February 18, 2015. Born on October 8th, 1929, Elpidio was a native of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. He graduated from the University of Havana in 1954 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for the Cuban Electric Company specializing in underground electrical networks. Following his arrival in the U.S. the same year, he worked a variety of jobs to put food on the table for his family until 1965 when he was hired by the General Telephone Company where he worked for three decades as as a Senior Engineer with a specialty in protection engineering. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Carmen, three sons Elpidio (Leslie), Edward (Mollie), Paul (Genevieve), nine grandchildren Christen, Meghan, Christopher, Blake, Andrew, Ellen, Adrianna, Michael,and Abigail, two great-grandchildren Aubriyanna and Channing; and his brothers Leonardo (Marilyn) and Jorge and his two sisters Ofelia (Gabriel Rodriguez) and Laura (Andre Kerek) and his many wonderful friends from St. Lawrence Church and La Teresita Restraurant. He is predeceased by his father Elpidio Garcia Tuduri and his mother Ofelia Jimenez de Cisneros. A funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Saturday, Feb 21 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N Himes Ave, Tampa. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass.
