She was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on November 23, 1938.
Elva grew up in Waterbury then moved to Miami to attend the all girl school Barry College. She majored in chemistry and minored in French. After graduating, she then moved to Tampa and started working for Pan American Airlines in management in the 70’s and later worked and retired from AAA Travel.
Elva had a passion for travel. She travelled around the world with her husband, Raymond and took her children and grandchildren on many wonderful trips. She was an avid animal lover and always enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard. She loved to read and loved her two cats.
Elva is preceded in death by Raymond C Moré, her beloved husband. She is survived by her two step children Raymond (Sean) Moré (Elizabeth) and Yanna Moré Galante (Frank) and her 6 grandchildren, Olivia and Alec Galante, Julia and Spencer Moré and Rebecca and Grace Philpot.
A celebration of life will be held, Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 10:00am, Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue. We will gather after the service to share memories of Elva.
The burial will follow at 1:00pm, where she will be buried with her husband, Raymond, at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society or SPCA Tampa Bay.
