94, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21st in her home. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she moved to Tampa in 2006. She graduated from Manhattanville College in New York. She was a spiritual person, an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and partaking of a good meal. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Antonio A. Duran; parents, Ramon Valdes-Cobian and Mariana Lopez-Cepero; siblings, Carmen Valdes, and Marianita Hernandez. She is survived by her children, Antonio R. Duran, Encarnita Alonso-Ahrens and her husband, Ed, Luis A. Duran, Maria Eulalia Amador and her husband, Gustavo; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Ana Maria Fernandez and Ramon Valdes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held at John Knox Chapel on November 5th at 11am, followed by inurnment at Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Heifer International.
