

Janna Alyce Yelton, of Carnesville, Georgia, passed on May 13, 2026 at the age of 83. Born on December 14, 1942, at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa. She was the daughter of Percival Potts Culbreath, Jr. and Mary Eileen McGehee Culbreath.
Janna spent much of her career working in underwriting and auditing within the casualty insurance industry, including time with INA and Chubb & Sons. She also worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block and later with Ehrlich Animal Hospital. She attended Hillsborough Community College and was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles David Yelton, Sr.; her son, Charles David Yelton, Jr.; her half-sister, Mary Elizabeth Malarz; and her half-brother, James Edward Culbreath.
Janna is survived by her sons, David Yelton (Michelle) and Christopher Yelton (Kelly), along with her cherished five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, who brought endless joy and pride to her life.
A proud majorette during her school years at Wilson Junior High and Plant High School, Janna enjoyed dancing, cooking, and traveling, especially visits to National Parks. Her favorite color was blue, and she loved the song “I Will Always Love You,” written and performed by Dolly Parton and later made famous by Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard.
A graveside service for Janna will be held Friday, May 29th at 10:00 am. Janna will be laid to rest at Hopewell Church Cemetery and a reception will follow.
