
John M. “Pappy” Lynn, Jr. Went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ August 12, 2021. Born in Port Tampa, John was a lifelong resident of Tampa, FL. John was an H. B. Plant High School Alumni where he lettered in varsity football. He continued his education, graduating with a Business Degree from the University of Tampa. After graduating high school and before completing college, John proudly served in the United States Army, as a 2nd Lieutenant, Airborne Ranger. Stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia, John was a certified training instructor for servicemen going through ranger training. John enjoyed a lifelong career in sales with Kraft Foods receiving many outstanding awards. He was a loyal member of the Masons. While in the Service he married the love of his life, Cynthia. After retiring, with his soulmate by his side, they began their next chapter as camp hosts in the State Parks around Georgia and North Carolina. This continued for several years and during this time they met many lifelong friends. John loved sports and never missed Johnny and Laurie’s high school football games. He was the “Voice of the Seahawks” for his grandchildren’s football games and always in attendance for his great-grandson’s ball games. He was an avid Florida Gator and Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan. John was known for his humor and always enjoyed talking and listening to people. He made everyone he met feel like family. John was a true inspiration to his family and his many friends. John was a kind man with good morals and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. John is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and John M. Lynn Sr.; sister, Helen Mikel; his lovely wife of 68 years, Cynthia Flowers Lynn; son, Johnny Lynn, Sr.; son-in-law, Marcus Dosal; as well as father and mother-in-law, Shannon and Minnie Flowers. John loved his family more than anything and those he left behind were his daughter, Laurie Dosal; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lynn; grandchildren, Jason Lynn (Veronica), Kristi Stock (Jeremy), Bubba Dosal (Stephanie) and John “Shannon” Lynn, Jr.; great-grandchildren, John “Seamus” and Justis Lynn, Alex Martinez, Jack and Dom Dosal, and Bode and Saylor Stock; nephew, Butch Mikel; cousin’s, Barbara Ann Knight and Robb Knight (Lisa). Extended family include Verdie Dosal, Steve and Kris Dosal. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church located at 500 W Platt St., Tampa, FL 33606.
