

Joe was born in Clarksville, TN to Luther & Lela Bryant McWhorter on 10-03-1935. He went to school at Baggett High. He married Barbara Hamilton Bixler on 02-23-2002 in Lakeland, FL.
He graduated from General Motors University of Automotive Management. He worked as a District Service Manager for Cadillac Motor Car. Div/GM Motor Corp for 38 yrs.
Joe was a 2 year veteran and served in the Army as Military Police. He was a member of the Master Mason out of Lincoln Park, Michigan and a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite and Moslem Shriner. Joe was a member for 59 yrs.
Joe was a Christian that attended Harborside Christian Church.
He received so many awards, achievements and honors that they covered a wall. Including the highest honor presented by the Governor of Kentucky, “Kentucky Colonel Award”.
Joe is preceded in death by Parents; Lela & Luther , Son; Eddie, Daughter; Tammy Bixler, Brothers; Virgil, Cragon and Curtis McWhorter. Sisters; Agnes Hodges, Modene Clark and Clara Hodges. Granddaughter; Tatum Johnson.
Joe is survived by Barbara Hamilton McWhorter, (wife) a son;Terry A. (Anna), Tampa, FL. daughter, Heidi Bixler Goldstein of Tampa, FL, son, David Bixler of Waverly, OH., a Brother; Wayne of Clarksville, TN.
Grandchildren; Jennifer, Joe & Bree, Alesha, Anthony, Kane, & Sylvia and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren; Austin, Miranda, Mason, Hazel, Kylie, Leanna,Callie, Connor, Aria,
Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on April 29 at Blount & Curry Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel, Tampa, FL.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm on April 29th, 2023 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar West Hillsborough Chapel, Tampa, FL
Pastor Tom Bates of Harborside Christian church, officiating.
Second Service will be a Graveside service at Omega Cemetery, in Waverly, OH on May 6th 12:00 pm Pallbearers will be the Mason/Shriners of Waverly, OH and Ron Bixler, Anthony Gee and Kane Gee.
