Julie Millican, 72, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Miami, Florida, on November 7, 1952, Julie was the cherished daughter of Beverly and James Bethune. She grew up alongside her two younger brothers, Downing and Ed, building lifelong bonds rooted in love and family.
Julie was a devoted wife to her husband, Tal Millican, and a loving mother to her son Reese Millican and daughter Jasah Millican. She also welcomed her son-in-law, Alden Hatten, into the family with the same warmth and kindness that defined her life. Julie’s family was her greatest joy, and she lived every day centered around love, patience, and care.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, class of 1973, with a degree in Journalism, Julie began her career as a flight attendant with TWA. Her commitment to excellence earned her the prestigious Award of Excellence. She later served as the National Training Director at the American Diabetes Association and successfully directed the MS 150 Bike Tour for two consecutive years. Never one to stop learning, Julie returned to school at the age of 60 to pursue a degree in medical coding, proving that passion and determination know no age limit.
Julie loved life’s experiences, and her adventurous spirit took her across the world. She especially adored Europe - Italy held a special place in her heart. She found joy in wine, art festivals, museums, true crime stories, fashion, cats, flowers, and all shades of blue. She embraced beauty in all forms and shared that love with those around her.
She will be remembered as the epitome of grace, charm, and southern hospitality. Julie had an infectious laugh, a gift for listening, and the ability to make everyone feel truly seen and heard. She was kind, forgiving, career-driven, and always family-oriented. Julie’s presence left a lasting imprint of warmth and care on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Julie’s legacy is one of love and devotion. She is survived by her husband, Tal; her children, Reese and Jasah; her son-in-law, Alden; her brothers, Downing and Ed; and countless friends and family who were touched by her grace and kindness.
Julie often ended her conversations with a heartfelt reminder of her love:
