Laura is survived by her parents, Allan and Beverly Mason of St. Petersburg, Florida; her husband, William Kestelik of Tampa, Florida; and her siblings, Brian Mason of St. Petersburg and Lamar Mason of Dunedin, Florida.
She was born on September 22, 1961, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Allan and Beverly Mason. Laura graduated from Northeast High School in 1979 and went on to earn her degree in Marketing and Business from the University of South Florida in 1984. She married architect William Kestelik in 1993. After moving to Denver, Colorado, Laura worked as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines before joining Globus Tour Company as a tour controller. In 2008, she and her husband made their home in Tampa.
Laura was accomplished in both baking and gardening and generously shared her time and talents with her community. She delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years, and gave more than 15 gallons of blood to OneBlood since 2008. Her love of gardening was evident in her passion for xeriscaping and native plants. She was a dedicated member of Palma Ceia Methodist Church and, until recently, an active participant in the Historic Hyde Park Garden Club. She also volunteered regularly at Meals on Wheels, Trinity Café, and the Pantry at Palma Ceia Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9, at 1:00 PM at Palma Ceia Methodist Church, 3723 Bay to Bay Blvd., Tampa, Florida, 33629, with a reception to follow at the church. Reverend Bruce Toms will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Laura’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GO2 for Lung Cancer at go2.org.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Drs. Marconcini and Paryani for their excellent care and treatment of Laura over the past five years.
