With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our dear mother Maria Josefa, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Born in Santa Apolonia Merida, she spent her early years surrounded by her family before moving at a young age to Caracas, Venezuela, alongside her sister and loved ones.
In Caracas she meet our father, Pedro Orts, who had recently moved from Barcelona Spain, he left Spain escaping Franco’s dictatorship in 1948, and they got married.
Together, they formed a beautiful family and shared a life together until he passed away, thirty-eight years ago.
She was a devoted woman of faith, and she showed us what it truly means to Love God.
She was always there to lend a helping hand and offer a listening ear to anyone in need, she was our pilar, she was extremely smart, kind, giving, loving mother.
Her calm presence and wise advice were a source of comfort to all of us and all who knew her.
She was a very dedicated, the most uplifting, compassionate, inspirational woman you will ever meet.
Maria is survived by her daughters, Flora Orts, Elizabeth Orts, and Montserrat Orts. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Janice, Alexandra (Gerry), Krystel (Jordan), Shamyl (Shane), and Valerie. Additionally, she leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Mia, Enzo, Marlee, Matteo, Elle and Zion.
Preceding her in death were her sisters, Adela Lopez and Carmelo Lopez; her husband, Pedro Orts; and her sons, Pedrito Orts and Jorge Orts.
Mum, your love and blessing will always live within each of us.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Paul Catholic Church, located at 12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618, on December 18, 2025, at 10:00 am.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will take place at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609, on December 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a rosary reading beginning at 2:30 pm.
A Memorial Service will follow at the same location on December 20, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
