Mark C. Walker, 86, of Chicago, Illinois. passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at his Tampa, Florida residence surrounded by family. Mark was born on June 4, 1935 in Boston, Mass. He was the second child and the eldest son of Mark and Gertrude Walker. Mark was a retired CPA, educated at Hiram College in Ohio and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Mark loved to play golf and tennis, frequented the cross fit gym, and was an avid sports fan who loved his Green Bay Packers. On most days you could find him gardening and grilling ribs on his Weber Grill.
Mark is preceded in death by his son, Dow Walker. Mark is survived by his remaining children, Mark Walker of Venice, Fla., Paul (Michelle) Walker of Orlando, Fla., James (Margaret) Walker of Tampa, Fla., Karen (Fred) Proesel of Chicago, Ill. and Matthew (Annalea) Walker of Tampa, Fla.. Mark is also survived by his former spouse, Mary Kay Walker and his siblings Anne Dorny of Paris, France, John Walker of Boston, Mass., and Hap (Marsha) Walker of Westin, Mass. Mark was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and one great grandson; Carmelina, Nicholas, Gabriella, Freddie, Dow, Caroline, George, Emma, Patrick, Rosie, Deane, Drew, Liv, Matty J, Henry and Santiago.
Funeral Mass will be held, June 30, 2021 at Queen of All Saints in Chicago, IL at 12:00pm. Followed by a celebration of life open house from 1:00-6:00 at City’s Edge in Chicago, IL.
