Mary Jo Yates, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018. Mary Jo was born in Tampa on August 3, 1949 to H. Hollis and Kathleen (O’Grady) Eggner. She and her husband, Ron, were married for 42 years and have two daughters, Kathleen and Melissa. Mary Jo was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a trusted and loyal friend. She was an extraordinarily talented seamstress and enjoyed using her gifts to make beautiful things for the people she loved. Mary Jo delighted in playing bridge at the St. Petersburg Bridge Club, spending time in the mountains with her husband, sewing in her sewing room and spending time with her four precious grandchildren. A lifetime resident of Tampa, she graduated from H.B. Plant High School and was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she worked for many years. Her memory and legacy of love will live on through her husband, Ron; her daughters Kathleen (Micah) Gerber and Melissa (Sam) Elsberry; and her grandchildren Ella, Grady, Lucy and Wade. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16th from 5pm to 7pm at Blount and Curry Macdill 605 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa, FL 33609, and Funeral Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church 821 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, 33609 Thursday, May 17 at 9am with a private graveside service to follow.
