Pedro Vergne Almenas, 87, passed away on June 4, 2022 in Tampa, FL. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico and a lifelong resident in San Juan, PR, he moved to Tampa, Florida in 2017. Pedro was a civil engineer who graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Pedro served as a Captain in the US Army, Corps of Engineers and was a member of the Puerto Rico Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors.
There was nothing more important to Pedro than his family, especially his three daughters. Family always came first and meant everything to him. He enjoyed talking about life, their accomplishments and memories that they had created over the years. Pedro was honorable, he was loving and giving, he was more than fair, he was charismatic.
He has left a huge void in our hearts and we are devastated by his departure. While we mourn the loss of his engaging personality and deep love, this loss is lessened by the many beautiful memories that will live forever in our hearts. Pedro, you had an extraordinary life, one that touched lives, inspired others, and left the world a better place. We will miss you.
We pray that you are at peace and that you are reunited with our precious mother. Your beautiful legacy continues to grow and you will always be part of us.
Pedro was preceded in death by his mother, Aida Vergne Almenas, PhD; father, Carlos Vergne Ortiz; wife Diamela Vergne; brother Cpt.
