Reinaldo Martinez

Reinaldo Martinez, 81 of Tampa, Florida passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at Palm Gardens Rehab Facility. Funeral will be Monday, February 8 at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Tampa. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Pastor David De Jesus will be officiating the service. Due to Covid-19 visitation will be restricted to family.

Reinaldo was born October 30, 1939 in Tampa (Ybor City), FL to Francisco and Margot Martinez. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1958. In 1961 he enlisted into the US Coast Guard and served our country for 20 years. On January 27, 1968 he married Carmen H. Martinez (Padilla) in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. After retiring from the US Coast Guard in 1981, he went to work for the US Postal Services and retired in 2002. He was a Christian by faith and an active member of Tabernaculo De La Fe for over 20 years and recent years a member of La Luz Del Mundo. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family, hosting big family gathering and spending time with is grandchildren.

Reinaldo survived by his wife, Carmen Martinez, his son Reinaldo Martinez Jr, his daughter Miriam Cobeaga and husband Javier Cobeaga and two granddaughters Amaya and Milana Cobeaga, his brother Frank Martinez and sister in law Eneida Martinez, sister in laws Gertrude Alicea, Rita Gonzalez, Modesta Padilla and several nieces and nephews.
