Bobby was a devoted husband to his wife, Carrie, and a proud, loving father to his daughter, Cate, who was the light of his life. He is survived by his parents, Robert Bruce Burchett and Young-hee Burchett, and his siblings, Kimberly, Charles, and Willard, all of whom cherished him deeply.
Bobby graduated from Jesuit High School in 1996, where his foundation of faith and scholarship was firmly established. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
For 25 years, Bobby built a distinguished career with Black & Veatch, serving as a Professional Engineer and consultant. His work made a lasting impact on the Tampa Bay region through his support of essential water infrastructure projects for clients including Tampa Bay Water, local municipalities, and state Water Management Districts. His work ensured quality, reliable water supply to the community and helped to safeguard water resources for future generations.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bobby will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, warm friendliness, and genuine interest in others. He had an easy smile, a great sense of humor, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. Bobby touched the lives of everyone he met—family, friends, colleagues, and clients alike. He leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter, generosity, and compassion.
Bobby’s life was filled with purpose, faith, and friends. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends he has known since childhood, and the many hearts he touched along the way.
