Survived by his wife of 51 years, Laura, his daughter Ashley (Robert), grandson Cole, and many loving family members and close friends. Rod was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army and then graduated from USF, where he met Laura on the campus newspaper. He worked for the Tampa Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times, TECO, Louis Benito Advertising and at age 42 he attended UF College of Law. He practiced law until his retirement in 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, at Blount & Currey Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill, Tampa, FL 33609. Visitation at noon, funeral service at 1:30 pm with burial to follow at Garden of Memories.
