Roy Munoz

Roy was born on December 21, 1961 in Sevilla Valle, Colombia.

In February 1994, he ventured to the United States where he worked for many years as an over the road tractor trailer driver. His last position, and the one of which he was most proud, was as a semi-truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service. It was during his time there that he met his soulmate, Ellen Muller in May of 2001.

They were married on May 2, 2005 and spent 14 wonderful years together.

Anyone that knew Roy, knew that he loved any excuse to celebrate life and spend time with those precious to him. While he was an avid salsa dancer, you could always find him singing along to Foreigner, Journey, and any 80s rock music.

Roy is survived by his wife, Ellen; mother, Ofelia Quintero; sister, Ligia (Lupe) Muñoz; brother-in-law, Jerry Calhoun; and nieces Poliana Barton and Valentina Galeano.

Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Roy are invited to join us in celebrating his life on Saturday May 11 from 12-3 at Gonzalez Funeral Home 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa FL, 33614. Visitation will begin at 12, service will be at 2 performed by Father Ruiz, there will be a small reception after the service at the Gonzalez Funeral Home. While we appreciate tradition, we invite you to join us in dressing in joyous colors to celebrate Roy’s joy of life.
