

Ruth Morris Kidder, 81, died Tuesday March 15th with her family by her side in Tampa, Florida. A service will be held in honor of her life on Saturday, March 26th at 11:00 AM at Blount & Curry at 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa, 33635.
Ruth was born on April 30, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to Martha and Russell Morris. She grew up in Royal Oak Michigan, graduated high school in 1958 and attended Western Michigan University following.
Ruth moved to Tampa with her family in 1971 where she lived for the remainder of her life, enjoying the year-long Florida summers with her family. She worked as a teacher for the Hillsborough County School system for over 40 years (Dale Mabry & Grady Elementary as a special needs & kindergarten aide for children) and didn’t retire until the age of 75! She spent time volunteering for the school post retirement and never hesitated to lend a hand when someone was in need.
Her interests include family, sunning at the pool/beach, crafts, decorating, cooking and staying up to date on the latest news and entertainment. Ruth devoted much of her time and energy to being a caregiver to her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Ruth is survived by her 4 sisters: Pat, Marty, Sandy and Barbie; her 3 daughters: Kris Romano (husband David), Kelly Kidder and Karen Sullivan (husband Mike); her wonderful grandchildren: Kyle, Danielle, Kent, Lindsay, Amanda, and Austin; her beloved great grandchildren: Delaney and DJ. Ruth touched the lives of so, so many over the years as a mom, “Granny”, teacher and friend. We will never forget her kind soul, firecracker spirit and the impact she made in this world.
