Hopkins, Sandra Lee, 72, of Tampa, passed away at home on July 18, 2016. She was born in Wilmington, DE but was a lifelong resident of Tampa. Sandra retired from Glaxo-Smith Kline Clinical Labs after 23 yrs. of service. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, playing BINGO, an avid reader, and staying in touch by Facebook. Sandra is survived by her loving family; daughter, Pamela (Rick) Cartright, sons, Michael (Michelle) Schurgard, and David W. Schurgard; grandchildren, Dawn (Jason), Sandra (Leroy), Jason (Tiffany), Jessica, Kristen (Tim), Dana (Sean), Nicole, and Austin, 13 great grandchildren, sister, Susan Coombs, brother, Irv Hopkins, sister-in-laws, Sunnie Mendiola, and Rhonda Hopkins. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Norma Hopkins, grandmother, Mary Baldwin, and brother John. Family and invited friends are welcomed to attend a visitation from 2-4 pm, Friday, July 22, 2016 at Blount & Curry West Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr. Tampa with a service starting at 3:00 pm.
