Sandra "Sandy" C Walker

Sandra Louise Coates Walker, 79. Tampa- Sandra (Sandy) Louise Coates Walker, born December 2nd, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, was called home to be with our Lord surrounded by family in the early morning of January 2nd, 2023.

Sandy was a proud Registered Nurse for most of her life having graduated from the University of Florida College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree, but she will be forever remembered for her most influential role in life, that as a loving mother and grandmother to her six (6) children and her sixteen (16) grandchildren. For those who were privileged to know her, Sandy epitomized the meaning of the word Mom. It did not matter if you were her child or not, you were family to her, and Sandy loved her “family” fiercely. We, her immediate family, and those whom she considered family, are blessed to have had her in our lives, and she will be loved and missed so much.

Sandy is survived by her partner Roland Young, Tampa, her sister Sally Blaze (Ken) Tampa, her children Jeffrey Walker, Michael Walker (Megan), David Walker (Garnet), Angela Reid (Michael), Adam Walker (Maria), and Matthew Walker (Amy), her grandchildren Gabrielle, Nicholas (their mother Cresia Walker), Madeline, Meryl, Miles, Caden, Christian, Benjamin, Emily, Matthew, Zachary, William, Amelia, Julia, Bennett, Laurel and numerous loved nieces and nephews. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents James L. Coates of Winter Haven, Virginia Ruth Parks of Tampa, her Aunt Angela Resar, and her beloved twin sister Penny Beasley of Winter Haven.

A family funeral service will be held graveside Saturday January 14th at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven, FL at 2:30pm, where Sandy’s final resting place will be alongside her twin sister Penny.

A celebration of her life will follow that evening at Seasons 52, 204 Westshore Blvd Tampa, FL from 6-8:30 pm.
