

A time of gathering with the immediate family will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 with a memorial service to be held at 4 p.m. at the Gonzalez Funeral Home at 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614.
Thomas was born October 24, 1948 in Sandusky, Ohio to Victor and Myrtle Stookey. He graduated from Perkins High School in 1966. He married his wife, Wendy Kay Stoner, from Elmore, Ohio on July 8, 1978 in Sandusky.
An avid sprint car racer, Thomas spent much of his life on the track or in the garage. His other passion was building construction, which ultimately brought the family to Tampa where Thomas was a business owner and general contractor. He enjoyed racing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his wife, daughter and grandchild.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wendy; his daughter, Nicole Stookey Albers, and her husband, Quincy Albers, of Tallahassee; and grandson, Slade; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Stookey.
