Tom married Susan Dodge on August 21, 1971, and they were married for 52 years. They had three children and raised them in Tampa, Florida.
Tom enlisted in the Navy in 1966. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He had many great memories from his time on the ship. He attended Georgia State University. Tom worked as a commercial fisherman in Gloucester MA. He enjoyed telling stories about his adventures on the different ships and his shipmates, some who became lifelong friends.
Tom spent his career working as a roller ball bearing salesman whose territory included Florida and Georgia. He worked in the industry for over 28 years and retired in the late 2000's. He was a great salesman whose customers loved to see him walk through the doors with his treasured treats of fresh donuts.
While Tom had a fulfilling career in the Navy, as a fisherman, and at his ball bearing job his true passion was with his family and friends. Tom loved to entertain at his home along with his wife Susan. The back porch was always open to everyone to grab a seat and have a cold Budweiser or an ice-cold Coke. One of his favorite hobbies was his record collection. His record collection was vast, and he could always find the perfect songs to play. One of his favorite music events was Woodstock, which he would always joke that he didn't even have a ticket to attend. He had the time of his life, and his wife Susan was there by his side for all their adventures.
Tom, while he loved his family and friends dearly, they all suspected that coming in at a close tie would be his 62 Pontiac. The car still runs, and he used to drive it around town on special occasions.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marie. He is survived by wife, Susan; three children, Amie (Todd) Crosby, Katie (Art) Perry, and Patrick (Carley) Fraher; three grandchildren, Jessica Crosby, Aliya Escoda, and Abigail Perry; brother, Brendan (Barbara) Fraher; and many other family members including cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
