It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Hazel Louise Chasak, a beloved wife, mom, Meemee, and friend, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Hazel was born on August 15, 1943, in Lexington, Texas, to Oswald and Olga Richter. On April 12, 1963, she married the love of her life, Allen Chasak, and together they shared 63 wonderful years—one month and four days—of devotion, partnership, and joy. They were blessed with three daughters: Lisa, Tracy, and Christine.
Hazel was known for her sweet spirit and the deep, unwavering love she poured into her family. She made sure everyone around her knew they were cherished. To her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren—and to all their friends—she was simply “Meemee,” a source of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
She built a life grounded in faith, hard work, service, creativity, and, above all, family. Her home was a gathering place where countless memories were made. Her grandkids and great‑grandkids fondly remember spending time at Meemee’s house, where holidays were filled with her famous “nutty noodles” and her beloved Thanksgiving dressing.
Hazel is survived by her devoted husband, Allen Chasak; daughters Lisa Keis (Bill), Tracy Richter (Jason), and Christine Gardner (Tracy); grandchildren Keith Page (Marina), Joshua Richter (Kaylee), Victoria Lopez (Seth), Eric Keis, Sarah Richter (Tanner), Ryan Gardner (Kayla), and Travis Gardner (Camryn); and great‑grandchildren Kayleigh (Ezekiel), Kason, Kinleigh, and Knox Page; Chloe, Aaliyah, and Selena Lopez; and William Richter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Kelley Russell Page.
A service honoring Hazel’s life will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.
Hazel’s love remains a guiding presence for all who knew her, and her legacy lives on in the family she treasured.
Revelation 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.”
