

Alfred Taylor, age 85 of Rogers, died Thursday, September 6, 2018 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 8th at First Baptist Church of Rogers with Dr. Allen Raynor officiating. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, September 8th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Mr. Taylor was born November 6, 1932 in the Joe Lee community to William Ernest Taylor and Ida Beatrice Warren Taylor. He graduated from Rogers High School. He was a lifelong resident of Rogers. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in the refrigeration business for many years and retired from the maintenance department at Temple ISD. He enjoyed hunting and working cattle. He was a strong individual that would give a helping hand to anyone. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy O’Neill and husband, Dan of Belton and Tina Amlin of Troy and two grandsons, Will Newton and Ryan Amlin. Also surviving are two brothers, Raymond Taylor and wife, Mary of Rogers and Terry Taylor of Little River-Academy and four sisters, Helen Cryer of Temple, Ernestine Brown of Moffat, Earline Reid of Temple and Rita Jones and husband, David of Coupland and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers are Darrell Wayne Brown, Robbie Brown, Tim Taylor Michael Taylor, Jay Reid, Jody Jones and Doyle Ray Taylor. Honorary pallbearer is Herman Zikhur.
