Arlen Allen

Arlen Autry Allen, age 74, died at Arbor House in Temple Texas on February 27, 2016. Born July 11, 1941 in San Saba, Texas, to Eugene and Bertha Allen. Arlen attended Santa Anna High School and graduated in 1959 before attending McMurry College in Abilene, Texas and then joining the Army. Arlen was the Manager of the Sherwin-Williams Store in Temple Texas for 27 years. Arlen and Quincy lived in New Braunfels and Temple, Texas. Arlen was a member of the Taylors Valley Baptist Church. Arlen will be remembered for his many years of support for the kids of the FFA in both Temple and Troy. Also he will especially be remembered as “Honeydad” to his grandkids and all of their friends. Survivors include, his daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Gil Gregory of Troy, Texas, his son and daughter-in-law Wesley and Debra Allen of Troy, Texas and his five grandchildren Justin, Jordan and Jarrett Gregory of Troy, Texas, Andrew and his wife Katelyn Allen of Elmore, Oklahoma, Madison and her husband Brian Honeycutt also of Troy, Texas, his sister Barbara Jones of Fort Stockton, Texas, and his niece Terry Raines and her husband Bill of Dallas, Texas. Arlen was preceded in death by his wife Pebble LaQuinn “Quincy” of Temple, Texas, his parents Eugene and Bertha Allen of Santa Anna, Texas and his brother Travis Allen of Santa Anna, Texas. Services will be held as follows: • Memorial Visitation 6-8pm, March 4, 2016 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Road, Temple, Texas • Reception 12 Noon March 5, 2016 at the Rockwood Community Center, Rockwood, Texas • Graveside Memorial Service 2pm, March 5, 2016 at Rockwood Cemetery, Rockwood, Texas. In place of flowers, Memorial contributions are welcome to the Rockwood Community Center, Cemetery Fund.
